Richard (Dick) Nixon, 90, of Binghamton, NY passed away on September 30, 2024. He was predeceased by his; First wife Helen, daughter Margaret Mary, sons John and Gerald; ; and his second wife, Kathleen, His brothers; Thomas. Joseph, James, Jack, Donald; Sisters; Helen, Kay, and Agnes. He is survived by his; children, Dennis (Linda) Nixon, David (Laura) Nixon, Linda (Randy) Scrambling, Edward Nixon, Richard (Kim) Nixon, Helen (Virginia) Nixon; Stepchildren; Michael (Beth) Rodney, Sean (Mary) Judge, and Kara Barcomb; Brother; Martin (Joan) Nixon, 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren that he loved dearly; Many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Dick served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Binghamton Psychiatric Center after working over 20 years. He was a proud volunteer fireman with the West Windsor Fire Company. He enjoyed the many family gatherings and parties at the "School House", he loved cooking and enjoyed baking his famous fudge for everyone. He was a devout Catholic, attended mass daily, and loved serving others. Special thanks to his grandson, Justice, who was his faithful companion for the last 2 years. Dad lived a long and storied life. He will be dearly missed.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday October 19th at St Paul's Church 282 Chenango St. Binghamton, NY 13901 followed by full military honors.. The family will receive friends at the church from 10am until the time of service. Burial will be private in the family plot at Knox Cemetery in Ouaquaga, NY.
