George W. Austin, 90 of Afton passed away peaceful- ly Tues. March 7, 2023 at Wilson Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 56 years. Christine Aus- tin, Afton, 6 children, John Austin, Afton, Rosemary & Rodney Smith, TX, Nicholas & Jenni Austin, Harpurs- ville, Jeff & Kathy Austin, Bainbridge, Theresa Aus- tin, Afton, Clint & Melissa Austin, Afton, 16 grandchil- dren, 17 great grandchildren, a sister, Janice Kinney, Waterloo, NY and also numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his 13 siblings and his be- loveddog, Chester. He was a retired farmer and log- ger. He loved his cows, horses and dogs. His fam- ily was taught by his exampleof work ethic, love for family and devotion and to never give up. Graveside Services will be held in the spring at New Ohio Cemetery, Tunnel.
