Bruce Wendell Hopkins of Binghamton

Bruce Wendell Hopkins, 96, of Binghamton, passed away and joined his loving wife —and sweetheart Edie— of 60 years, May 21, 2024.  Bruce is survived by his; four children, Kevin B. Hopkins; Daniel L. (Ruth) Hopkins, Stephen M. (Linda) Hopkins; Karen M (Rick) Lunsford; 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren whom he cherished spending his last years around.  Bruce served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War receiving the Korean service medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, and the United Nations Service Medal; upon return he worked for and retired from NYSEG in 1999 after close to 50 years of working in the Generation Department. Bruce was kind, gentle, and loving to everyone he knew, and always had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed long road trips with his sweetheart sightseeing through the Adirondack Mountains, and Old Forge, as well as camping trips with his family.  He was very dearly loved and will be missed by all. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday May 25, 2024 at Savage-DeMarco Funeral Service 338-344 Conklin Ave Binghamton, NY 13903. Calling Hours will be from 10:30am-11am with the service beginning at 11am. The funeral service will be followed by a private burial and full military honors service officiated by the Broome County Veterans Memorial Association for family only at the Chenango Valley Cemetery.
