Lawrence J. Furman, 85, of Conklin, NY passed into the presence of his Lord August 1, 2024. He was predeceased by; his parents, Kermit and Francis Furman; siblings, and son-in-law, Chad Barnes. Lawrence is survived by: his loving wife of 61 years, Caroline; five children, Larry Furman, Cynthia Barnes, James Furman, Michael (Tonya) Furman, and Ann Marie Furman; eleven grandchildren, Kara, Jeremie, Tony, Brittni, Larry Jr., Christopher, Nicole, Sarah, Lily, Casey, and Alex; 3 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Reina, and Milo; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lawrence belonged to the Painters Union #107 for several years. After retiring he continued to paint for several years. He loved racing factory stocks at 5 Mile Point and Penn Can Speedway. He had a love for fishing, bowling, camping and many family vacations. His pride and joy was his 54’ Oldsmobile convertible that he fully restored along with his 53’ Super 88 Oldsmobile. He was an avid car show participant winning numerous trophies all over New York state.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 am Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the West Windsor Baptist Church. The family will welcome friends Monday from 5-7 pm at SAVAGE-DeMarco Funeral Service 338-344 Conklin Ave Binghamton, NY 13903. Condolences may expressed online at www.SavageFS.com.
