Chania Langner Stymacks, 91,  of Binghamton NY passed away on 5/8/24 after a brief illness. Chania is survived by; her daughter, Coreen; son, Daniel (Taleen);  and granddaughter Amelia.  Chania was born in Breslau , Germany to Erich and Ida Langner.   Ida, Chania  and her brother Rolly persevered through WW2 during which Erich died and the family was driven out of Breslau.  As refugees the Langners braved dangers and fled west before re-settling in Breslau postwar. 

After high school, Chania pursued a singing career at the music school in Braunschweig .  She later worked for Volkswagen and lived in the castle topped town of Budingen.  In 1965 Chania married American GI Bill Stymacks, and they moved to the US in 1968.  Joan Stymacks, her new sister-in-law in New Jersey, befriended Chania and eased her entry into American society.  The family lived in Butler NJ until 1973.  Country life in Sussex, NJ lasted until 1976 when the family moved to Binghamton where Chania found many new friends singing in the German Club choir.  She worked as a Home Health aide for Broome County and retired in 1991. In retirement, Chania enjoyed gardening, reading and visiting with friends from the Healthy Heart Club and German Club.  Chania wants to send love and thanks to her friends Rinah, Marianne , Helga and Helga, Rosemary, Duane and Margaret.  Love to her family from Bloomingdale Pat, Sandy, Jean, Tom and Barbie.
